Program Objectives

The program objectives are for participating students to:

Participate in innovative cancer research project that focuses on health disparities.

Participate in lunch time lectures and seminars held at the CDU and UCLA-JCCC campuses.

Learn “hands on” research procedures under the guidance of graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and/or faculty mentors.

Present progress on their learning process and specific research project at weekly lab meetings.

Become familiar with cancer research literature, processes, and techniques.

Prepare a research paper based on their summer research project that can be presented at a research symposium.
